Church Thanksgiving – Silad Church 2017

Theme: Blessing of those who Fear the Lord 

Scripture:  Psalms 128:1-6  –Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

The churches in the Philippines each year have a special Thanksgiving Celebration. There is a theme and scripture, family members travel long distances to attend, other churches and leaders may be invited, it is an all-day event, with singing, dances, teaching, music, presentations, worship, prayers and a feast. The churches start preparing 90 days before this special day giving thanks to God.

Theme: Share Your Life Share Your Blessings 

Scripture: Deuteronomy 2:7 “For the Lord your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.”

 Many churches in the Philippines celebrate the church’s founding anniversary. Sometimes this celebration is merged into the Thanksgiving celebration. It encourages and exhorts the church to continue in the faith and take that next step from year to year until our Lord Jesus Christ takes His bride home.
